There is some debate regarding the utility of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) subtypes as currently defined. Differences in co-occurring psychopathology among subtypes would support the validity of subtype definitions. To explore how ADHD subtype relates to co-occurring psychopathology in a large population-based sample of children and adolescents (n=5744). Parents completed the Strengths and Weaknesses of ADHD-symptoms and Normal behavior (SWAN) questionnaire, the Child

cultures. The phylogenetic analysis of the 5’UTR and Npro region has revealed at least 21 distinct subtypes of BVDV-1 and 4 subtypes of BVDV-2. Genetic diversity of BVD viruses has serious clinical implications such as immune evasion, increase of virulence, host range alteration and also affects the efficacy of vaccination programmes and diagnostic methods.

Both subtypes present with similar symptoms, though haematochezia, vomiting and leucocytosis are more commonly associated with the ileocolic subtype(4). Intussusception has two components: the intussuscipiens (the receiving loop) which contains the intussusceptum (the donor loop). The donor loop has two components, the entering and the returning limb.

Various histopathologic and morphologic subtypes of HCC, some of which are not included in the WHO classification of the digestive system tumors, are described throughout the literature(6–8). El Jabbour et al.(7) described these HCC subtypes as steatohepatitic, clear cell, scirrhous, infiltrative, fibrolamellar carcinoma, combined hepatocellular-cholangiocarcinoma, combined hepatocellular and neuroendocrine, granulocyte colony-stimulating factor

Juvenile spondyloarthritis may be present in at least 3 subtypes of juvenile idiopathic arthritis according to the classification of the International League of Associations for Rheumatology. By contrast with spondyloarthritis in adults, juvenile spondyloarthritis starts with inflammation of peripheral joints and entheses in the majority of children, whereas sacroiliitis and spondylitis may develop many years after the disease onset. Peripheral joint involvement makes it difficult to

Evaluation of paternity (alleged father, mother, and child) can range from a strightforward resolution to a complex problem that cannot be resolved without family studies. We present a case of disputed paternity in which tests for crossreactive groups (CREGs) and antigen subtypes (splits) within the human leukocyte antigen (HLA) system could not be used confidently to prove or disprove paternity. Further analysis, red cell enzyme tests, enabled a final verdict and confirmed the current

Each of the three subtypes was named based on its preferred agonist, N (prefers nicotine and oxantel), L (prefers levamisole and pyrantel), and B (prefers bephenium) (Martin et al., 2004; Robertson et al., 2002).

distribution of various virulence determinants among STEC strains isolated in Poland from different sources. A total of 71 Shiga toxin-producing E. coli strains isolated from human, cattle and food over the years 1996–2010 were characterized by microarray and PCR detection of virulence genes. As stx1a subtype was present in all of the tested Shiga toxin 1 producing E. coli strains, a greater diversity of subtypes was found in the gene stx2, which occurred in five subtypes: stx2a, stx2b, stx2c, stx2d

Introduction
Delirium was defined by the American Psychiatric Association as a mental disorder characterized by an abnormal state of cognition and awareness (American Psychiatric Association, 1987). Additional delirium features include disorientation, inattention, misperception and hallucinations (American Psychiatric Association, 1987). Delirium subtypes (hypoactive, hyperactive and mixed) were identified in 1983, by Lipowski (Lipowski, 1983). The hypoactive subtype is frequently called “pure

Placental chorioangioma is the most common subtype of non-trophoblastic placental tumors. Other subtypes are very rare and usually associated with an uneventful course of pregnancy. Most chorioangiomas are small and of no clinical significance. Giant chorioangiomas may be associated with serious fetal and maternal complications. So far, no established ultrasound guidelines are available for the management of placental non-trophoblastic tumors. This may be attributed to the rarity of the disease

Introduction. Genetic findings in several epilepsy syndromes provide insights into the pathophysiology of specific subtypes of epilepsy and into mechanisms of epileptogenesis, because the genes encoding ion channels, and proteins associated to the vesical synaptic cycle, or involved in energy metabolism, influence neuronal excitability. Aim. The following aspects of genetic epilepsies will be discussed: new proposed “organization of the epilepsies”, genetic and other etiologies
