EMBEDDED SENSING AND ACTUATION FOR HELMETS CO2 LEVELS CONTROL

The paper reports on the development and evaluation of a simple closed loop solution for controlling the CO2 levels within small enclosed environments, such as Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) protective suit helmets. Based on a detailed analysis of the helmet environment during bomb disposal missions, the solution proposed automates the current manually controlled fan integrated within the helmet to achieve an effective, timely and energy efficient, control system.Whilst the paper and its

RECYCLING OF POLYMER WASTE IN THE CONTEXT OF DEVELOPING CIRCULAR ECONOMY

return to production through the allocation of useful fractions and disposal of irretrievable waste. Thus, waste recycling, as a component of a waste management system, can be considered as the most important, necessary, essential, inalienable property of the fourth industrial revolution. According to the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine in 2016–2017 no more than 5.8% (2.8 million m3 or 638 thousand tons) of garbage was received for recycling, of which 2.7% was utilized by thermal processing, and

Detailed EFSUM recommendations on the scope of ultrasound assessment in patients with portal hypertension considering the diagnostic reference level

medical entities. The first reference level: ultrasound assessments in a primary health care setting (performed by GPs, emergency physicians, non-specialist private practice physicians, non-specialist practice physicians); at least one mid-class ultrasound scanner with pulsed and color Doppler options, equipped with convex 3–5 MHz and linear 7–12 MHz transducers should be available at physician’s disposal. The second reference level: ultrasound assessments in the hospital setting and specialist

FEATURES OF MUNICIPAL WASTE MANAGEMENT IN THE CONTEXT OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN THE COUNTRIES WITH HIGH GNI PER CAPITA AND LOWER MIDDLE GNI PER CAPITA ON THE EXAMPLE OF FINLAND AND UKRAINE

. Solving the problem of waste reduction, recycling and disposal of accumulated waste has become vital for the world’s population. These factors have forced humanity to make decisions on changing the paradigm of its development for the transition from the “consumer society” to the “sustainable society”. The concept of sustainable development was adopted at the UN Conference on Development and Environment in Rio de Janeiro in 1992 [2]. Sustainable development (SD) “meets the needs of the present without

GENETIC DIFFERENTIATION METHODS OF MICROORGANISMS IN THE SOIL – PLANT SYSTEM

Biodiversity is a key concept in finding important features of new microorganisms. Microorganisms play an important role in the soil ecosystem and participate, among others, in such processes as the maintenance of soil structure, humification, release of organic compounds, disposal of pollutants and transformation of organic matter. The maintenance of competent state of soil microbial communities, i.e. the appropriate microorganism count, activity and diversity, is a necessary condition for the
