Most assessment methods only take into account the environmental impact, but not the engineering performance of the concrete being evaluated. The proposed method is supposed to be much simpler to apply than LCA analyzes, but at the same time it can take into account both the impact on the environment and engineering performance based on two equivalent criteria encompassed in the Ecological Index (EI) and Performance Index (PI), as explained below. The eco-friendliness of the concrete can

First, it ranked the first Chinese authors, and selected 76 authors with more than 5 articles as sample authors. Then it collected the sample authors’ articles on WOS, and the h-index and first author h-index were listed and analyzed.

This paper deals with the measurement of polarization for ordinal data. Polarization in the distribution of an ordinal variable is measured by using the decomposition of the Leti heterogeneity index. The ratio of the between-group component of the index to the within-group component is used to measure the degree of polarization for an ordinal variable. This polarization measure does not require imposing cardinality on ordered categories to quantify the degree of polarization in the distribution

The overlays have been obtained using atomic layer deposition (ALD) method. The method allows for deposition well-controlled in thickness, well defined in optical properties, high-RI and very conformal thin films as required for optical fiber sensors. For the investigated LPGs we obtained sensitivity of 3490 to 6471 nm per RI unit

The polypyrrole films are characterized by FTIR and Raman spectroscopy. Ellipsometry and thin film transmission

Due to the high importance of the American economy, in the past, announcements of US macroeconomic data were shown to have a significant impact on financial markets in general, and on European stock markets in particular. However, as this effect may vary in time, this paper examines the changes in the impact of US macroeconomic news on the WIG20, the main index of the Warsaw Stock Exchange. Based on intraday data from 2004- 2019 we study the changes in significance and in the strength of the

This work presents a study of the evolution of the reflectance spectra of porous silicon as-growth and with thermal oxidation under controlled conditions. Porous silicon layers were prepared by electrochemical anodization of a silicon substrate p+ in an aqueous solution of hydrofluoric acid and ethanol. Multilayer structures were formed on the basis of porous silicon, two different layers were realized by controlling the refraction index of each one of the layers using the Bruggemann model, in

minimization of the improved energy detection algorithm in which the decision statistic is computed using an arbitrary positive index instead of squaring operation. First, an optimum decision threshold satisfying Minimum Error Bound (MEB) is derived. Next, an optimum value of the arbitrary positive index with minimum number of samples satisfying a Target Error Bound (TEB) is derived. A thorough numerical analysis and simulations are performed and the results confirm the accuracy of the analysis.

LMRs are supported here by a thin Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) coating fabricated onto an optical fiber core via a sol-gel dip coating. ITO coated optical fiber devices present a resonant maximum absorption peak in the infra-red region which is shifted to higher wavelengths when the refractive index of the medium in contact with the ITO layer is increased. A polymeric structure is deposited onto this ITO

The Simpson index measures the probability of two randomly selected nematodes from a sample belonging to the same species. This index is calculated using the equation Ds = ∑ (pi)², wherein pi was the relative abundance of nematodes in a sample (Simpson, 1949).
