An outcome-based review of an accredited Specialist in Blood Banking (SBB) program: 25 years and counting

categories used by the journal Transfusion, and we added a few subtopics for clarity. We tabulated program value-added opportunities, such as group and quality assurance projects, completed during the 1-year program that promoted team building, auditing, writing, and presentation skills. We retrieved publications in peer-reviewed journals authored by graduates to determine contributions made to the transfusion medicine body of knowledge post-graduation.
